Started racing: go-karts in 2003
Dedicated to developing his career as a professional driver, Michael is active with numerous racing activities both on and off the track.
In 2007 Michael competed and was successful in the Skip Barber Regional Series, an open wheel formula car series. Michael achieved four podium finishes in just eight race starts in the Skip Barber program. Throughout the 2007 racing season, Michael also worked as a crew member for various racing teams as well as an instructor for a go-kart racing school.
Michael recently competed in the 2008 Skip Barber Karting Shoot-out where he was awarded a $10,000 racing scholarship. Michael also raced in the 2008 Skip Barber National series season opener at Sebring International Raceway finishing 7th and 4th in his series debut.
Shortly thereafter Michael was selected as a Volkswagen factory driver to compete in the inaugural season of the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup.
Michael’s ultimate goal is to become a world champion. He is committed to the sport and understands the effort and dedication required to achieve this goal. Michael relies on his hard work and dedication to racing to help him and his team to achieve their goals. His focus on staying in peak physical condition with support from PitFit Training, and working with his team in a collaborative and motivating manner are examples of his constantly striving for excellence on and off the track.
